About Ernest
I like to think that fashion is in my blood.
My grandmother and great-grandmother were seamstresses who came here from Latvia right after WWII.

Growing up in a house full of their handwork was an inspiration to me.
Closets full of their patterns, colorful spools of thread and needles all seeped deep into my subconscious.
Design. Craftsmanship. Attention to detail. Hard work.
Beauty. Form. Function.

A small seed formed in my soul. It eventually grew into a strong oak tree.
Deep down I always knew that I wanted to make things.
There's something very satisfying about seeing your efforts manifest in real life.
In 2009 I set out to start my own clothing label.
It started with a simple dream of creating beautiful men’s accessories. At the time I couldn't find a suitable bag to carry around New York City.
Everything was either too rugged or too stuffy, so I decided to create what I thought was the perfect men's bag -
something handsome, functional and refined. It took countless weeks of sketching, prototyping and refining. The waste bin was my best friend.
Eventually we released our first bag, the Hudson Messenger, which I'm proud to say has gone on to be one of our bestselling bags to this day.
The rest, you could say, is history.
Over the years we've refined and expanded our collection to other bags, clothing & accessories.
We continue to evolve in this same vision, focusing intently on design, beautiful materials, quality and specific attention to the finer details.
For me, there's nothing more exciting than creating artfully designed products that become part of your everyday life.
I like to think in ways large and small, it honors my family tradition while looking forward to the future generations.
Thank you for visiting and shopping my line.
I hope you enjoy our products as much as we enjoy creating them,
and I look forward to continuing this journey with you.
